COVID-19 has affected many businesses far and wide, but there’s one business that often goes unnoticed: a garden center. The Green Thumb, located in South Carolina, was one of the many businesses who had to momentarily suffer, reconfigure, and learn how to flourish in the midst of the pandemic, as explained by owner Donna Lynch. As businesses are deep into their Fall seasons, and approaching Winter, it is important for them to take a step back and analyze the point they have reached since March, when COVID laws and restrictions began. Being a small business during a pandemic is anything but easy, and extra measures must be taken to properly tackle the situation. All garden centers are different, and have experienced the pandemic differently, but Donna Lynch is able to tell you exactly why and how her business found the silver lining, and has greatly succeeded over the past few months.
